APC’s Obaseki wins Edo Governorship Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Godwin Obaseki, has been declared winner of the Edo State governorship election.

The APC candidate won majority of the votes cast, getting a total of 319,483 votes, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, announced.

People’s Democratic Pary, (PDP) Candidate, , Osagie Ize-Iyamu, got 253,173 votes.

Mr. Obaseki also won majority votes in 13 of the 18 local governments in the state, losing the remaining five to the PDP candidate.

His remain was laid to rest amidst tears and wailing on September, 15th at Ebony Vaults Chapel, James George Street, off Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos he was 22 years old.

Edo 2016: Police Arrest 3 Ex- Militants Leaders with 2 AK 47,

..To be Arraign in Court on Wednesday

Edo state Police command has arrested three Ex- Militants Leaders around Benin city with two AK47.

The three Ex- Militants Leaders are currentlydetained at state criminal investigation department inside the state Police headquarters and they will be Arraign in Court on Wednesday.

Leader of group, Gen. Peres Ejuni from Ofunama, decamped to People's Democratic party last week Thursday at home ville hotel, Benin.

The Police, Department of state Security services and the Edo state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has earlier raised issues of Security concern and importation of Militants into the state.

Speaking to journalists yesterday in Benin, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney general of Edo state, Barrister Henry Idahagbon on the rumor that the Militants were arrested in his hotel on Friday, he said the purpose of this fabrication is to obfuscate the arrest of one their imported 'Generals' Gen. Peres Ejuni who was arrested with two Ak47 assault Riffles and is currently with the police.

Idahagbon said all efforts to get the general released from custody have proved abortive.

The state Attorney general said the police have remained resolute and ready to arraign him before the court on Wednesday .

"My attention was drawn through innumerable calls to a mischievous publication on the Facebook page of one Ogbeide Ifaluyi Isibor to the effect that the DSS arrested 61 militants in my motel. Some days ago the same fellow also caused to be published that I was buying PVCs within the premises of the ministry of Justice.

"The PDP having failed woefully to persuade Edo people to return to Egypt has resorted to spinning false stories and marketing same online. We are daily been assailed by different fabricated stories. If the deputy governor wasn't engaged in a shouting match with the governor, the commissioner for information, Hon Kassim Afegbua will be endorsing one of their two candidates.

"For the avoidance, the story is false and a figment of the warped imagination of the writer, no amount of false propaganda against my person or other members of the APC will stop the impending annihilation of the party in Edo state and the reduction to tunnels of the over bloated political ego of their candidate"

PDP Crisis: Wike Removed as Convention planning Chairman

 Today there is a new dimension to People Democratic Party (PDP) crisis as the Board of Trustees (BoT) announces the remover of River State Governor Nyesom Wike as chairman of the convention planning committee.

The BoT instruct Caretaker Committee led by Ahmed Makarfi to set up of a new planning committee for the party's national convention to be approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, and convention was schedule for next year in Abuja instead of Port Harcourt, where it was aborted twice.

The directives by the BoT were part of the conditions given by the faction led by estranged National Chairman Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff for peace and reconciliation with the Makarfi committee before the last botched convention.

The BoT's letter reads: "The next convention should be held in Abuja.
"To ensure a credible, transparent, free and fair convention, a new Convention Planning Committee should be constituted by the National Caretaker Committee and approved by NEC".
The communique further stated that the BoT should facilitate fund raising for the running of the party and directed to reconciliation committee headed by a former Information Minister, Prof. Jerry Gana to continue with its reconciliation efforts.

The meeting ended with the BoT passing a vote of confidence on the Makarfi led caretaker committee.
It charged the committee to to convene a meeting of the NEC, with the view to approving proposals designed to steer the party away from crisis.

Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin ( APC, Kano ) has once again alleged that the  Speaker House of representative, Yakubu Dogara to have been involved in cases of money laundering since his (Dogara) Chairmanship of House Services Committee.

Dogara was House Services Committee Chairman in the 6th and 7th House of Representatives while Jibrin, as a first timer was Finance Committee Chairman in the 7th House.
According to Jibrin’s statement today  Speaker have been involved in the car purchase scandals in the House while he was Chairman, House Services Committee during the N2.3b car purchase scandal in the 6th House.
He accused the Speaker of not distributing the internal budget of the House to any member, said,

  "He operates the budget in secrecy and no member has a copy

"Speaker Dogara has supervised the mismanagement of finances of the House through wasteful award of contracts on items already in members offices
"Speaker Dogara introduced to members a fraudulent mortgage system in the House and proposed illegal deduction from members running costs
"Speaker Dogara supervised the scandalous car purchase contract in the 7th Assembly where huge sums of money in bribe was alleged
"Speaker Dogara was involved as Chairman House services in all cases of money laundering associated with the House since 2007.
"Speaker Dogara in a clear case of conflict of interest has used his office to facilitate loans from an MDA and arrange "private" meetings with MDA's".
