Akwa Ibom State new centre of Exellence

Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has vowed that  his state will soon be like Lagos and make it the next centre of excellence so that its indigenes across the country will come back home.
He also said by investing in its airports to boost cargo movement, and its waterways, he will make the state a logistics centre that transports goods to other parts of the world through the Gulf of Guinea.
Governor Emmanuel spoke at the weekend in Lagos where he was made Grand Patron of Akwa Ibom State Community in Lagos (AKISCOM) and layed foundation for its proposed plaza in Surulere, Lagos.
He noted that AKISCOM is doing well because the people thrive in a common ground that gives equal opportunities to people of all tribes. He urged them to see potentials in one another, and harness talents in each other.

According to him “Akwa Ibom is 6.2 million people and that is why my administration is poised to make things happen by creating access and infrastructure, transparent leadership and security. That is why we are the only state licensed to generate 675 megawatts electricity. We also built modular schools and a 10.5 metre road linking the state with Akia so that those from neighbouring villages can access our free education policy.
He stated further that “Also, my dream is to make Akwa Ibom people earn a living and not beg for a living. This, I can only achieve through visionary leadership and harnessing human and intellectual potential through love, unity and progress. Don’t be limited by your vision.” He thanked the Federal Government for establishing two brigades in Uyo and for situating a war college in the state, adding that the Plaza project will help brings the bond of unity among the people.
