Sacked Aids Drags Oshiomhole, Obaseki  to Court

The sacked Executive Director on Poverty Alleviation and Women Mobilization, to Governor Adams Oshiomhole, Mrs. Evelyn Igbafe has dragged his former boss before a Federal High Court in Benin over what she described as abuse of her fundamental Human Rights as encapsulated in Chapter 4 of 1999 constitution.
Other respondents according to the applicant in a suit number: FHC/B/CS/110/2016 includes the All Progressive Congress, (APC) Governorship candidate, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Attorney General of the state and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Henry Idahagbon and the Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezeki as second and third respondents respectively.
Counsels to the 3rd respondent, Austin Osamede had pleaded with the presiding Judge for time to properly study the summons and put up appropriate response since according him he received the Court processes on Sunday.
The Counsels to the applicant on resuming of hearing appealed to the court to order the 3th respondent, the Commissioner of Police or any agents from further harassment and intimation of his client since the matter is before a federal High Court.
 The case was however adjourned to the 6th October, 2016 for further hearing.
Meanwhile, Counsel to the applicant, Barrister Jude Edobor explained to Journalist that they are in court to enforce the fundamental human right of the applicant against discrimination, dignity of the human person right to life as encapsulated in chapter 4 of the 1999 constitution.
“Our client had a different view from the Respondents in this matter about the primaries that was conducted in the APC governorship primary and based on that she has been witch-hunted all this while that is why we quickly dashed to court because we can’t take the law into our hand.
“There is a body that handles such matter and that is why we are here. We have implicit confidence that we are sure of Justice. Some of the parties are not in court today while the one in court said they just got their processes which is the 3rd Respondents which is the police “
